full moon pie

I was deleting some pictures from my phone when I came across this one. We celebrated Leah's seventh birthday shortly after we moved out here, before we had a functional kitchen or even a bathroom sink. Our guests had to wash their hands in the tub. I couldn't bake a cake with no oven, so I did the next best thing. Okay so maybe it wasn't the next best thing.

I agree, that is awesome creativity! How many 7-y/o's--nay, how many people of any age--have had a moonpie birthday cake? Kudos to you!

Hey MM! We used to eat at a place called Po' Folks in Birmingham near Century Plaza. They had moon pies and RC cola. I love the south.

HB -- necessity is the mother of invention!

Hi Karen! It scored pretty well on the laugh meter, too!

Hey TCE -- thanks! It was such a great party. We had a burlap sack race and a hayride, and we bobbed for apples. The kids ate so many apples!

Oh my gosh, I remember Po Folks!

Thanks Heather K!

TCE: I am so glad somebody else remembers Po Folks! I always wanted to make a checkers table with bottle tops for pieces.

Thanks Lori! I promise that if you are ever faced with a dear child's birthday and no other means of producing a cake, you will be forced to discover your inner creativity!
