marathon

Tonight I feel cowish. The good, strong heart of a cow. The primitive song and the rhythmic footfall. The steady eye.

On Sunday, I will run like a cow. Heart and song and footfall. If you think a cow cannot run, then you do not live among cows. I am not built like a cow. I do not resemble a cow. When you see me, you do not think, cow. But on Sunday, I will run like a cow.

Here's to cows running...here's to marathons...here's to completion of a goal. Just remember, I will be running right beside you on Sunday...in theory of course...

Um, I won't be running with you on Sunday, but I will send out some good thoughts for you. At least the city streets should be in better shape by then. They're trying to finish before Sunday's run.

Hey Heather! I need to see your face and hear your cheers somewhere between mile 20 and mile 26.2.... Thanks in advance for being there!

TCE -- thank you! The streets are looking good -- I hope they finish. We've been running parts of the course and it was not fun when they were stripped.

Hey Karen! I'll be the one that runs weeping through the finish line around five hours after the gun goes off. Shortly thereafter, I will be the one lying face down on the ground.

Hiya Patsy! So cool that your daughter is coming down for this. Maybe I'll see you in the crowd!
