This is the time of year that I always appreciate forsythia. Once everything else starts blooming and the colors span the rainbow, I'll forget about its yellow zeal in breaking dormancy to cheer on spring. Let's hear it for the trailblazers!

Hey MM! We were lucky that there were so many pretty flowers already planted here.

Hey ER! There are so many microclimates that affect plants even in the same region. I used to get really worried when I saw other people's stuff blooming before mine --I figured I'd killed mine somehow. Now I wait and see, and they're usually just late bloomers, like me!

Hey TCE! I absolutely love forsythia, and you have a beautiful way of describing it.
