One of our hens disappeared for a while ~

Seems she was busy ~

How sweet! Don't you dare eat them when they grow up! Or if you do, just tell me that you set them free in some green pasture somewhere...

Cool! How old do you think they are?

Look at the fuzzy butts! Congratulations on the new brood. :)

Hey Brandy ~ Not to worry -- we've never eaten any of our chickens! (Although, other things have, namely coyotes and owls. Snakes sometimes eat the eggs, too.)

Hi Julia ~ I'm not sure, but I'd guess maybe a couple of weeks? We just saw them for the first time about a week ago.

Thanks Lythrum!

You know, you don't have to wait for them to grow up to eat them.

How cute! Love the tail feathers on the mama!

Bro ~ Dude. I coulda gone my whole life without seeing that. The beak is the best part? Cheese-flavored ice cream in a bun freaks him out, but ripping the head off a deep-fried baby chick doesn't?!

Thanks Patsy and ER! My guess is that two of them are male and three are female. We really don't need any more males -- not sure what we'll do about that. (Don't get any ideas, Josh.)
